Two years ago, Congress passed the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which extended Daylight Saving Time by four weeks. As a result of this, most operating systems do not have the correct information partaining to the current effective dates of DST. Users of Windows XP and Server 2003 who are current with Microsoft updates should not be affected, but most other operating systems, including servers, are likely to have issues unless patched.
